bio

sid finch - the artist(s) once known in new york circles as "the trousers" - plays a mix of lyric-rich singer-songwriter compositions and riff-driven rock'n'roll.  The acoustic shows are devoted to telling stories that owe something in perspective and tone to the Dylan of  Blood on the Tracks  and, to some extent, Love and Theft; while the electric shows display the genre-hopping (and musical influence) of  a Some Girls-era Rolling Stones.

sid finch has recently returned to performing after a hiatus dedicated to soundtrack composing  (scores for the indy features Second Best (which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival) and Jersey Christmas), studying the yogic mastery of mind-body in the Himalayas, and a few year-long lost weekends with Harry Nilsson at Trader Vics.

sid finch has played in and around Los Angeles and New York City (often as "the trousers") in full band complement or solo-acoustic at such clubs as  the Mercury Lounge, Arlene Grocery, Rockwood Music Hall, the Living Room, Parkside Lounge, the Knitting Factory, CB's 313 Gallery, the Stephen Talkhouse, the Whisky-a-Go-Go, the Hotel Cafe, Molly Malones, the Cat Club, Monroe's, and Ghengis Cohen.

sid finch is:  brussels griffon a/k/a tom obrien (vocals/guitar/keys), jared egloswky (bass), cameron lloyd (drums), john kurtz (guitar) - and, on occasion, nick weber (keys), simon shapiro (keys, percussion).
